Valor Oil
What is it?
Valor Essential Oil from Young Living® is a blend of oils, specifically five different ones: black spruce, blue tansy, camphor wood, geranium, and frankincense. Black spruce contributes a rich, woodsy scent, blue tansy adds a light floral aroma that induces a calming effect, camphor wood is a fresh, woodsy, and somewhat eucalyptus-like smell, geranium adds a sweet floral scent that’s light and uplifting, and frankincense, the ‘king’ of all oils, brings a sweet, earthy scent to the mixture. The combination of these specific oils makes valor a very grounding, earthy, and yet subtly floral blend.
While each specific oil can support different parts of the mind, body, and spirit aromatically or otherwise, blending oils adds additional benefits. Valor Essential Oil, a specific oil from the Young Living® brand is one of their most popular oils. And its name gives its benefits away! Valor Essential Oil invites courage and strength, and brings emotional balance and confidence to tackle challenging times, such as facing your fears, big projects and presentations, or public speaking.
Fun Facts
The smell may initially be a bit ‘stinky’ for some, but after getting used to it, it’s like carrying around your own personal bottle of ‘courage.’ Any of you Harry Potter fans out there could even think of it like your own “liquid luck”!
While doing some research on these oils, we came across a recent story shared on the internet by a foot surgeon whose recovered stroke patient (from 10 years earlier) had recurring issues in his feet. Every time something would touch his feet, he would break out in foot spasms. The doctor used Valor Essential Oil with the patient, both aromatically by sniffing/diffusing, as well as topically on the foot. Within 5 to 10 minutes, the patient became more relaxed and the foot no longer went into spasm upon touch. Wow!
(Suggested) Benefits
invites a sense of calmness when feeling overwhelm and worry; particularly useful if you don’t like to fly
supports relaxation when applied to the temples and back of neck for kids (or anyone); ensure it is mixed with a carrier oil on kids or if your skin is sensitive, since the oil is a bit strong
stimulates awareness when diffused, or when placing a few drops in your hands and cupping them over your nose
strengthens cuticles and nails once mixed with a carrier oil
EndorphinGirl™’s favorite use
A few drops on the big toe of your ‘snorer’ at night could lead to better sleep for both of you! 👣
A final, but important note…
As with any essential oil, dilute, dilute, dilute! One way to do this is by using EndorphinGirl™’s favorite carrier oil. Can you guess which one? … Coconut oil, of course! Some other good ones are jojoba and almond oil, particularly if your skin is sensitive to coconut oil.
It is also important to mention that Valor is not a digestible oil.
Happy oiling!
